Insects can be a gardener’s best friend—and worst nightmare. Join us for an introduction to those bugs that we call beneficial and those that we call pests. From shield-shaped squash bugs to parasitic flies and wasps, we will identify some common garden insects and discuss how to attract or get rid of them in an environmentally-sound and sustainable way. Participants will receive a copy of Jessica Walliser’s Good Bug, Bad Bug: Who’s Who, What They Do, and How to Manage Them Organically, and other take-home materials.
We encourage participants to bring along an unknown insect for identification by our instructor.
