Living Local - Cross Farms

Living Local is an environmental education initiative started by the Maryland Coastal Bays Program (MCBP) to educate the local community about the beneficial impacts of small-scale farming with sustainable practices on the Coastal Bays watershed. Part of the Living Local initiative is community member farm visits! These visits consist of a farm tour, Q&A with the farmer, and assisting the farmer in daily tasks.
The first Living Local community member farm visit of 2021 will be held on Thursday, April 22 at     !! Attendees will get the opportunity to tour Cross Farms and learn about reading soil conditions, weather forecasting tips and tricks, the ins and outs of plant friend and enemy lists, and much more from Farmer Carol Cross. After the tour, attendees will be able to assist with some farm tasks including planting, transplanting, and cutting. Carol is a dedicated farmer who cares for the needs of her community and the environment and is eager to educate others about her practices and passion!
While all ages are welcome, please note the topics that will discussed and that this is a working farm visit and will require some manual labor! with any questions.
